From waterproofing to finished shower in four weeks.

The bathroom in Mölndal was on the lower ground floor and was worn, with old waterproofing, a floor drain that no longer met current requirements and a cramped shower. The client wanted a room that lasts for decades, not just one that looks new.

We stripped back to the shell, rebuilt the framing and installed a new floor drain. Floor and walls were waterproofed to the Swedish BBV industry rules with full documentation – the photo with the grey membrane and taped joints is from exactly that stage, before a single tile went up.

The room was then tiled with graphite-grey large-format stone-look tiles, with falls built in towards the drain so the shower zone works completely without a threshold. A black rain shower set, black towel radiator, recessed spotlights, a ribbed vanity unit with a bowl basin and a ribbed black door hold the detail line together. From strip-out to cleaned and finished, the project took four weeks.
